Key Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain the PABX or telephone exchange equipment assigned to the post, reporting any technical faults or malfunctions to the relevant technical staff promptly to ensure continuity of office communications.
- Assist senior administrative staff with telephone-based coordination tasks as and when required. In a district government office, the telephone operator often plays a supporting role in facilitating urgent official communications during important administrative functions.
- Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality at all times given that government office communications may involve sensitive administrative, legal, or security-related matters that must not be disclosed to unauthorized persons.
- Ensure the telephone area and equipment are kept clean, organized, and in working condition at all times. A neat and functional communication workstation reflects the professionalism expected of government office staff.
- Carry out any additional duties related to office communication and administrative support as assigned by the Deputy Commissioner or relevant supervisory officer in line with government service rules.
Required Qualifications
- Intermediate or equivalent qualification such as HSSC, DAE, or A-Level is the minimum educational requirement for this position. All educational certificates must be from a recognized board or institution.
- A minimum of four years of practical work experience as a Telephone Operator is mandatory. Candidates who do not meet this experience requirement will not be considered regardless of educational qualifications.
- Candidates who have previously served as telephone operators in the Pakistan Army, Navy, or Air Force are specifically preferred for this position as stated in the official advertisement.
