Shalamar Hospital Jobs 2026 Available Positions

Five positions are available in this recruitment ranging from a research leadership role to clinical registrar and postgraduate trainee positions. Each post has specific educational and experience requirements aligned with PMDC’s criteria for faculty appointments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Director Research and Innovation will lead and promote the institution’s research and innovation activities by mentoring faculty and postgraduate trainees in research methodology, supporting research proposal development and grant writing, ensuring ethical and regulatory compliance, conducting capacity-building workshops, and fostering national and international research collaborations. The Director will also oversee grant management and contribute to strengthening the institution’s overall research capacity and innovation ecosystem.
2. Assistant Professor Medicine will teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, conduct clinical rounds, supervise residents and trainees in the Medicine department, contribute to curriculum development, and actively participate in departmental research and academic activities at Shalamar Medical and Dental College.
3. Senior Registrar Cardiology will manage complex cardiac cases at Shalamar Hospital, assist consultants in catheterization laboratory procedures and outpatient cardiology clinics, supervise junior medical staff, and contribute to the postgraduate training programme in Cardiology at SIHS.
4. Senior Registrar Nephrology will handle inpatient and outpatient nephrology cases including renal replacement therapy oversight, assist nephrology consultants in procedures, supervise junior doctors, and participate in departmental teaching and academic activities.
5. Postgraduate Trainee Cardiology will undergo structured clinical training in Cardiology under CPSP supervision at Shalamar Hospital, gaining hands-on experience in cardiac patient management, diagnostic procedures, and the academic components required for FCPS Cardiology training as per CPSP guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Director Research and Innovation requires MBBS with a PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or an equivalent postgraduate qualification from a recognized institution, with at least 10 years of experience in translational research, research administration, and industrial collaboration. Proficiency in statistical analysis software including SAS and SPSS, strong understanding of biostatistics, scientific writing, and research ethics are essential. A track record of obtaining research grants is required.
• Assistant Professor Medicine requires Level III or Level IV qualification commensurate with PMDC’s approved criteria for appointment and promotion in the relevant discipline. Candidates must hold a valid PMDC registration and meet the experience criteria specified in PMDC’s faculty appointment regulations.
• For Senior Registrars in Cardiology and Nephrology, MBBS with relevant postgraduate qualifications and valid PMDC registration are required. Eligibility is as per CPSP guidelines applicable to each specialty.
• For Postgraduate Trainee Cardiology, MBBS plus completion of FCPS Part 1 2 years in General Medicine is required along with a valid RTMC in General Medicine, Training Completion Certificate in General Medicine, and all educational documents including Detailed Mark Sheets, Provisional and Attempt Certificates, House Job Certificate, and valid PMDC registration and CNIC.
